My husband had total knee replacement in early June, the day after a Foley catheter was necessary because he could not void. Three times in last 6 weeks we have had UTIs and once even a case if c diff because of antibiotics used without use of probiotics. Please advise what are next step should be - hospitalized right now. It not getting good advice that is easing family concerns.

Long term use of a Foley catheter is not ideal. A urologist should be consulted to determine health of prostate and bladder.
Drink cranberry juice, avoid hospital food as much as possible by preparing healthy foods at home and bring them. Supplement with preand probiotics.
