Let's talk about prostate cancer signs and symptoms so you can learn more about your prostate.
While it is very important to know what to look for, I submit that it is even more important to understand the causes and what to do about your condition.
We will talk more about cancer in another page, but for the moment let's just accept that cancer in your prostate is actually a way the body tries to isolate the cancer from more vital areas of the body so that your life is not endangered.
Cancer is a wake up call to heal yourself and is not a death sentence at all. Simply stop the conditions that created it, cleanse your body, eat the highest quality foods compatible with your body uniqueness, take proven natural prostate treatments and you will heal.
The above way of healing, in my view, is far better than today's modern treatments which have serious side effects. Study after study is now showing how much doctors and urologists downplay them.
A recent Australian study showed 90% of men a year later had side effects like incontinence or impotence or more. To me if there is an alternative, I would want that first! And there is... make the effort to heal your condition.
If you think the latest robotic surgeries are better, you are just playing into modern marketing. They have no better outcomes than conventional surgeries. Both are to be avoided in my opinion.
Of course, you will have to decide yourself. My goal is to provide you with enough information so that you don't panic that you have death sentence nor do anything worth the price to get rid of the dreaded "cancer".
Know this: among the choices doctors will give, "watchful waiting" is most often the best thing to do for your prostate cancer signs and symptoms. Watchful waiting means do nothing according to the medical profession, if you are lucky enough to have a good doctor.
My take...do something! Change the conditions that caused it while waiting!
If we see cancer as an immune deficiency, isn't it better to balance your system with good nutrition, detoxing and exercise rather than weakening it with toxic chemicals and surgeries that will leave you with life changing side effects?
Most of you will be too scared by the word "cancer" to take responsibility for your health into your own hands. I understand. But for those of you ready to make the change, I wrote my book Healthy Prostate. Click on the image on the right, and you can learn more about what's in the book. It's much more than I can go into here.
OK, back to prostate cancer signs and symptoms...
You can have earlier signs of prostate cancer and not even know it because prostate cancer symtoms can be very minimal at first. Peeing becomes more frequent, hesitancy sometimes happens, erections can suffer and ejaculation can become somewhat less than pleasurable at times.
These early symptoms of prostate cancer will vary from man to man and – in most cases – will be the other two prostate conditions: BPH enlarged prostate or prostatitis.
You should get a DRE exam, or a digital rectal exam, from a urologist – not your GP. GPs are just not expert enough and can miss things that a good urologist won't. That happened to me.
Urologists are better able detect prostate cancer signs and symptoms because they know the textures of a healthy prostate and can feel prostate cancer tissues.
Of course, they will want to do a biopsy if they detect the slightest thing and that is where your problems can lead to results you may not want. The doctors need to protect themselves from lawsuits so doing more is always better for them. You can't be faulted for doing tests (even as harmful as biopsies are), surgeries and chemotherapy even if the patient gets worse and dies.
If you are told you have cancer, you have time to make changes to stop its spread and reverse it even in later stages. It will take hard work and real commitment to change your diet, to cleanse and to strengthen your immune system. But that is the way to health – not attacking the body with an onslaught of chemicals and surgeries.
Some of these symptoms are also common in other prostate conditions. See below.
The first four are also seen in cases of prostate enlargement, in which there is no cancer. The other symptoms may also be caused by infections or prostatitis. It is not easy to diagnose prostate cancer from symptoms alone. In some prostate cancer cases, few if any symptoms are present.
All of these warning prostate cancer signs and symptoms may be other prostate diseases so the only way to know for sure is by having a prostate biopsy. This page will also explain the risks.
There are many possible negative consequences of biopsies:
The last item is the worst one — the biopsy test itself can cause cancer cells to escape the prostate into surrounding tissues and spread the cancer that was once contained in the gland. Most prostate cancers are contained.
If any prostate cancer signs and symptoms are present in the biopsy results, doctors keep the ball rolling. Conventional treatments vary, but all are damaging, as mentioned earlier.
For example, three adverse side effects of prostate surgery or radiation therapy include:
Now consider this: the findings from a 2009 European study indicate that 70 percent of diagnosed men have cancers that will cause them no harm whatsoever if left untreated. The study showed that just 1 out of 50 men would be saved through PSA screenings. The other 49 men would receive surgery with no benefit whatsoever, but likely suffer impotence or incontinence because of the treatments!
Use your prostate cancer signs and symptoms as a wake up call to get healthy. Make changes and you will reap the rewards of a healthy prostate and have only good side effects!
