My husband was unable to get the cytoscopic prostate exam several years ago, because the doctor insisted that he needed to be circumcised in order for the instrument to be inserted. We could not afford the operation at the time, then did not have insurance for a time, and at this point I have serious questions about the need for surgery to do a test. My husband has type 2 diabetes, which he keeps under control with oral medication. he does not have problems with urination. He does have problems with erectile dysfunction. which is most likely due to his diabetes. What is your opinion of circumcising a 49 year old man solely for the purpose of taking a test?

Ron here... sorry to take so long to answer as I thought it had been done but must have been a glitch...
It makes no sense to me to have to do a circumcision.
I would address his diet and health issues which create diabetes and erectile difficulties as well as prostate issues.
Time for a major life overhaul... diet, food, exercise is everything. Time to study and make changes, or else you will continue down the road of medical symptomatic mayhem. But that's just my opinion.
