I am a 69 yr. old male that has an enlarged prostate, severely distended bladder, bladder diverticulum, and lumbar stenosis.
I have had numerous tests that indicate a post void of over 450ml. I had green light prostate surgery 8 yrs. ago which helped for a while, but now my incontinence has progressed.
I wear a diaper of some kind most of the time which doesn't bother me much anymore.
I have an appointment with my urologist in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure what he will suggest.
I have tried most of the meds which didn't help much, and the side effects were unpleasant. I even tried to self-catheterize a couple of times, but ended up with a very painful uti.
My urologist indicated the TURP surgery could make my incontinence worse. However, since I already am managing with diapers would TURP surgery be useless? I guess, my main concern is damage to my kidneys. Also, wanting to relieve the pain and pressure that occurs when I do urinate. I could go into more detail, but I think you get the jest of my concerns. Should I have the surgery or manage as I am. Thanks for your attention.

Ron here...
Ask your urologist if he has done a prostate fluid exam to see the state of your pathogens inside your prostate. Unfortunately it is very likely that he will not know how to do that most basic of tests.
The only solution I know of for you is to cure the direct causes of your problem inside your prostate. And that is with targeted precision medicine injections that kills off the pathogens.
This is the only clinic in the world that can do this. I just did it and will be writing more about it myself.
I would write the clinic itself and submit the info you just wrote to see what they suggest about your particular situation.
